Lima School District #12 -

Alyssa Smith is the new 5^th and 6^th grade teacher for the Lima Public School District.  She has earned a Bachelors and Masters in Elementary Education from University of Montana Western.  She grew up in Dillon and still has family living there.  Miss Smith taught kindergarten for two years in Wolf Point before coming to the Lima School District.  During her “free time” she enjoys hiking, camping, reading, making scrapbooks, and spending time with her family.  Miss Smith’s decision to become a teacher was influenced by her fifth grade teacher.  Her teacher had a great impact on her life and she hopes to do the same.  Miss Smith enjoys teaching the 5^th and 6^th grade class because the students’ knowledge of the subjects and familiarity of the rules.  The challenge she faces is learning and getting familiar with the new math and reading curriculum.
