Skylar Martinell is the new art teacher and 5th-8th grade history teacher. She earned her Bachelors in Fine Arts in Studio Arts and a minor in Psychology from Montana State University this last spring.. Miss Martinell is a homegrown teacher and a Lima High School alumnus. When she is not teaching, she enjoys being on the family ranch and oil painting. One of the challenges she faces is navigating a new type of relationships with her co-workers who use to be her high school teachers. She says it is hard to be on a first name bases with the teachers after calling them Mr. and Mrs. for so many years. Miss Martinell is excited to begin her teaching career and bring a different art perspective to the school. She hopes she can inspire at least one student to pursue their dreams whether it is in art or other areas.
